JACS website terms and conditions
This page and any pages it links, to explains the terms of use for JACS. You must agree to these when using the JACS website (Jersey Advisory & Conciliation Service)
Who we are
JACS website is managed by JACS; JACS are an independent statutory body publicly funded through a grant from Government.
Using the JACS website
You agree to use the JACS website only for lawful purposes. You must also use it in a way that does not affect the rights of or restrict or stop the use and enjoyment of this site by others.
JACS update the website all the time and can amend, update or remove content at any time without notice.
Website services
You can use the JACS website to access online services, for example accessing information, joining the online training sessions and subscribing to JACS newsletters and connecting the JACS social media sites – please note that personal enquiries must not be made on any of AJCS social media sites.
Linking to JACS website
JACS encourage and welcome other websites to link to other website, although permission must be sought from JACS should either or both of the following apply:
- The making of a charge your website's users to click on a link to any of JACS pages.
- If you suggest/state your website is associated with or endorsed by JACS.org.je.
Linking from the JACS website
The JACS website contains links to websites that are managed by government departments/agencies and other organisations in order to provide access to further information that JACS do not advise on. JACS have no control over the content of these linked websites.
JACS are not responsible for:
- the protection of any information you give to these websites
- any loss or damage that may come from your use of these websites, or any other websites they link to
You agree to not include JACS in any claims or disputes that may come from using these websites.
You should read all terms and conditions, privacy policies and end-user licences for these websites before using them.
Using JACS content
You cannot use the JACS logo except when it forms an integral part of a document or dataset.
The content on JACS website can be used and reproduced as required
We do not give any guarantees, conditions or warranties about the accuracy or completeness of any content used. JACS are not liable for any loss or damage that may come using these products.
JACS will ensure that the content on the website will be the most up-to-date and current version.

JACS make every effort to keep the website up to date, however, JACS do not provide any guarantees, conditions or warranties that the information will be:
- current
- secure
- accurate
- complete
- free from bugs or viruses
JACS publish impartial information about employment and discrimination legislation on the JACS website. This information does not and should not replace independent legal advice, therefore users should consider getting professional or specialist advice before doing anything on the basis of our content.
JACS cannot be held liable for any loss or damage that may come from using the website. This includes:
- any direct, indirect or consequential losses
- any loss or damage caused by 'tort', including negligence (civil wrongs), breach of contract or otherwise
- the use of jacs.org.je and any websites that are linked to or from it
- the inability to use jacs.org.je and any websites that are linked to or from it

Requests to remove content
You may ask for content to be removed from the JACS website, and we will remove content:
- to comply with data protection legislation covering the rights and freedoms of individuals
- if it breaches copyright laws
- if it contains sensitive personal data or material that may be considered obscene or defamatory
Contact us Correcting Data Held | JACS to ask for content/data to be removed. You’ll need to send us the URL – the link to the website page of the content – and explain why you think it should be removed. We will consider the removal however such removal will be at JACS discretion.
Information about you and how you use the JACS website
We collect data as covered under our Data Protection and cookie policy. By using the JACS website, you agree to us collecting this information and confirm that any data you provide is accurate.
Virus protection
We make every effort to ensure the JACS website for viruses at every stage of production.
You must make sure that the way you use the JACS website does not expose your computer or device to the risk of viruses, malicious computer code or other forms of attack that can damage it.
We're not responsible for any loss, disruption or damage to your data or device that might happen when you use the JACS website.
Viruses, hacking and other offences
When using the JACS website, you must not introduce any material that’s malicious or technologically harmful, including:

- the JACS website
- the server on which it’s stored

You must not attack the JACS website in any way. This includes denial-of-service attacks.
If you attack or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the JACS website this will be reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities. JACS will then share information about you with them.
Governing law
These terms and conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Jersey.
Any disagreement you have with these terms and conditions, or your use of the JACS website, whether it be contractual or non-contractual, will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jersey.
General
There may be legal notices elsewhere on JACS website that relate to how client use the site.
JACS are not liable if we fail to comply with these terms and conditions because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
JACS might decide not to exercise or enforce any right available to us under these terms and conditions. We can always decide to exercise or enforce that right at a later date.
Doing this once will not mean JACS automatically waive the right on any other occasion.
If any of these terms and conditions are held to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal for any reason, the remaining terms and conditions will still apply.
Changes to these terms and conditions
You should check these terms and conditions regularly. JACS can update them at any time without notice.
You agree to any changes if you continue to use the JACS website after the terms and conditions have been updated.
